Facing the dull moonlit sky, she sat by the ocean and saw it stand still, unlike the violent waves it always threw at her. She removed
her shoes to feel the cold water and sunk her feet in the wet sand. Once again
she found herself lost in her thoughts, a place where she knew she was safe.
Away from this materially obsessed world. She knew nothing about what’s coming
her way, all she wanted was to escape and get a hint of what paradise feels like. “It’s full
of surprises” “It’s full of lies” “There’s no such thing called paradise, it’s
a word used by hippies who find solace in the stupidest of things” were opinions
she had heard and read about this place. Did opinions ever
matter to her? No, because they never worked in her favour.
She was never experimental. Quiet, shy, timid, introvert and
scared were words that best described her. At the beach stood an ordinary girl,
tired of her extra-ordinary life and willing to come out of her shell and spread
her wings which were pulled down by the weight of negativity and pessimism. A
girl with a dream, her strength locked
in a pen and a book, a girl who carried hope in her sleeves, a girl with a heart
which worried about how she’ll fill the last page of her book called “Life”.
Lost in her thoughts, a gentle wave covered her feet with cold water. That’s
when she found her conscience in the translucent ocean water, her confidence in
the sand which swept beneath her feet with every wave to return back to where
it was, her hope in the moonlit sky and her dreams in the calm and serenity of
where she had settled. That is when it dawned on her, you live in your own world and call it “Paradise”, Nobody can take that away from you.
Escape to your paradise,
dream big and sweep everybody off their feet!
